Thomas Tuchel Expresses Disappointment Over Wembley Fan Atmosphere Following Dominant Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his regret that the England team did not receive more support from the home fans during their impressive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was happy to see his side maintain their strong performance, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the first 20 minutes deciding the match. But, he was unhappy with the energy at the iconic venue.

“We had limited training days to prepare against a well-trained team and we did very well,” the coach remarked. “We could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get any energy back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you give in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s regrettable because the team warranted more support today.”

“I support my words. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a little more backing in phases where it gets difficult.”

“In the second half, to cheer us on, there was excessive backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to refocus, but that’s the way it went and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Performance

Away from potentially starting a dispute among supporters, Tuchel also created controversy by omitting Bellingham and Foden from his squad. However the move was justified by Rogers impressing again in the No 10 position and getting his first international goal.

“He is what he is,” the head coach said. “He is a No 10 and he is competing for his place.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Lessons from Loss

The Wales manager expressed hope that his team, who face a strong Belgian side in a important qualifying match on next week, learn from their disappointing first-half display.

“This is why I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy commented. “I need to see our standing. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? Today gives me motivation.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Watkins was withdrawn at the break after hitting a goalpost and is a concern when England face their next opponents in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
