Conflict zone News Agency
Military operations persist in an offensive in the northern Gaza Strip for an extended period.

Third-party negotiations working toward a final agreement on a US peace plan to end the war in Gaza have started in the mediation venue of the negotiation site.

Palestinian and Egyptian officials have indicated that the sessions are concentrating on "establishing the groundwork" for a possible exchange that would result in the liberation of all Israeli hostages in exchange for a group of Palestinian prisoners.

The group stated it agrees to the negotiation framework partially, but has not responded to several essential conditions - including its military demobilization and future role in Gaza.

Israel's prime minister said on recently that he anticipated declaring the release of hostages "shortly"

Conflict Timeline

The negotiations, which will see Egyptian and Qatari officials holding shuttle meetings with teams from both the two sides individually, take place on the verge of the two-year mark of the armed assault on Israeli territories on the initial attack date, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 individuals were taken hostage.

The Israeli military began military actions in Gaza in countermeasure. From that point, approximately 67,160 have been killed by armed interventions in Gaza, based on data from the region's Hamas-run health ministry.

Peace Plan Details

The comprehensive proposal, which has been endorsed by US President Donald Trump and the Netanyahu government, proposes an prompt cessation to combat and the freeing of 48 hostages, only 20 of whom are thought to be surviving, in exchange for numerous of incarcerated individuals.

The proposal specifies that once both sides accept the initiative "full aid will be promptly delivered into the Palestinian territory"

It also declares that the organization would have no role in political leadership, and it allows for an eventual Palestinian state.

Latest Updates

Recently, Hamas responded to the proposal in a statement, in which the group consented "to free all detainees, both living and dead, following the swap arrangement outlined in the US initiative" - if the necessary circumstances for the transfers are satisfied.

It did not specifically mention or approve the detailed initiative but said it "reaffirms its commitment to transfer the administration of the Palestinian territory to a Palestinian body of independents, established through Palestinian national consensus and international backing"

The announcement made no mention of one of the key demands of the initiative – that the organization accept its weapons surrender and to having no future involvement in the leadership of Gaza.

Regional Reactions

Gaza inhabitants characterized Hamas' response to the ceasefire proposal as surprising, after an extended period of signals that the group was considering denial or at least significantly qualify its endorsement of the US framework.

Alternatively, Hamas refrained from including its customary boundaries in the official statement, a decision many interpret as a indication of international influence.

International and regional officials have welcomed the plan. The governing body, which administers areas of the Israeli-occupied West Bank, has called the American initiatives as "sincere and determined"

The Persian nation - which has been one of Hamas's main sponsors for many years - has also currently expressed its backing of the American initiative.

Present Conditions

Armed attacks carried on in multiple areas of the Palestinian territory on Monday prior to the talks beginning.

Israeli forces is conducting an military operation in the urban area, which it has stated is designed to securing the release of the still-detained individuals.

An official representative, speaking for the territory's Hamas-run civil defence, stated that "no aid trucks have been authorized access for the metropolitan area since the offensive began recently"

"There are still bodies we cannot retrieve from locations under Israeli control" he said.

Numerous individuals of the urban center have been forced to flee after the Israeli military ordered evacuations to a specified safe zone in the southern region, but additional numerous individuals are considered to have persisted.

The military official has admonished that those who persist during the combat campaign would be "militants and their backers"

In the last 24 hours, 21 individuals have been killed in Gaza and a another 96 wounded, the regional health administration said in its current assessment.

International journalists have been restricted by Israel from visiting the Palestinian territory without supervision since the beginning of the war, making authenticating statements from all parties challenging.
